Not bad for a iphone pic!

Daniel
Just thought I'd drop in a new picture of Daniel. My plans to make homemade tortillas for dinner were squashed due to a lack of cooking oil, so I have a little extra time right now. Well, here you go:

they grow up so fast
As Ethan starts his second week of school, I started to notice how mature Hannah is becoming. Just today, she applied her own makeup and helped with the laundry. They grow up so fast...

Is that water from the toilet?
The bathroom is soaking wet and the kids are standing next to the toilet. Daniel asked repeatedly "were you playing in the toilet" and was getting vague answers. Finally the truth comes out, I slipped and the ball fell in the potty and I had to get it out, four times!". Ugggghhh!!! Three toys were lost today due to toilet water exposure. At least they told the truth, I guess.
My Luck with Family Portraits
A while back, I took a picture of Daniel and the kids at the park. Little did I know, my camera malfunctioned and all of my pictures from that day were extremely grainy (it spent 2 weeks in the shop after that). Well I came across that picture again this week while practicing my editing and this was the end result. Very fuzzy (it's better than the grainy, trust me) but otherwise perfect. Maybe we'll be so lucky as to get a clear and perfect picture next time. Maybe I'll frame this one on the wall, just to throw people off!

Saturday
Saturdays are great days for doing nothing in the Bauer nest. Daniel's done a little work this morning and so have I, but mostly we've been bums. Ethan's enjoying getting to play (this whole school thing is really cutting into his train time) and Hannah's being Hannah (which is a mess of makeup and shoes topped with randomness). Getting ready to leave so I guess today won't be a complete wash, hopefully we'll get our new microwave put in today!

Did God make Gingerbreadmen?
Ethan asked this question tonight. I told him, "Well, God made the wheat that we use to make flour and then we make gingerbread from the flour, so yes He did.". Ethan said "I know that! God and Jesus do everything together. They made the water and the land and buckets!". Interesting take on things!
Kids
Our daughter, who runs and scream hysterically if there is a fly in the room, decided today to "kill bugs" in Nana and Pop's front yard. Her weapon of choice: green, pointed, plastic sticks. No bugs were harmed, but she feels victorious!
Hannah
Hannah has decided that, even though she misses her Bubba, she likes being the only one home during the day. She picks the tv shows, the books, messes with Ethan's toys (shhh!), gets to shop with Mama and get the treats all to herself. She's going to be ticked when Ethan's home all day tomorrow and trying to call the shots!
A New Adventure
Ethan started his first day of school on Monday. He is so excited! He seems to really love his teacher, although he hasn't said one word to her yet. He won't speak to anyone! Poor baby! He's too much like Daniel and I in that department. When asked if he liked music class, his only response was "they didn't let me sing.". He loves to sing and was mad that they didn't sing this first week. He seems to be doing well, no trouble thus far. Hopefully next week he'll start talking and making friends!
So I started this blog...
and I really have no idea what I'm going to blog about, other than our family. Ethan is in school now so I have a little more free time and I thought this may be a productive way of keeping everyone informed of how we are doing. Daniel works, Ethan learns, Hannah plays and I dream. We're looking forward to a great year and entering my favorite season, FALL! BTW, I just love the background for the blog, it's so me!
